SLAPCEO & UWU signed a MOU at Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2021, BMICH
Sri Lanka Association of Professional Conference, Exhibition and Event Organizers (SLAPCEO) and The Department of Tourism Studies, Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka (UWU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2021 held on 01st December to 03rd December 2021 and officially became an academic partner of SLAPCEO.
Both SLAPCEO and UWU believe this is a great start to the further improvement of the relationship between State Universities and leading organizations in the MICE industry. The signed MOU has the capability to lead both parties to mutually beneficial areas as research & development, job opportunities and many more. With the assist of the signed MOU, UWU & SLAPCEO are looking forward to work towards the collaborative involvement of the development of the MICE industry in Sri Lanka.
SLAPCEO agreed to distinguish an outstanding performer in the Event Management subject stream who is awarded with a gold medal and a cash price at the General Convocation of UWU annually and UWU agrees to enrich SLAPCEO member’s workforce with their skillful graduates.
The signing of agreements took place in the biggest MICE event in Sri Lanka in the year 2021, The Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2021. The event date was – 01st of December 2021 and the event took place at BMICH, Colombo. Vice-Chancellor of Uva Wellassa University, Prof. J. L. Ratnasekera and President of SLAPCEO, Mr. Imran Hassan signed the agreements by representing UWU & SLAPCEO to officially announce the relationship between UWU and SLAPCEO. Parallel to the main event, Prof. J. L. Ratnasekera engaged with the distribution of saplings to mark the green event certification program during the Sri Lanka MICE Expo 2021.
